Critical Thread

9 — 13 December

Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland, Dublin

Drawing upon research of Oscar Wilde’s text The Critic as Artist, CRITICAL THREAD navigates the space between wearable garment, textile sculpture, and material study. If criticism is a creative act in and of itself as Wilde suggests, O’Brien questions whether the critical faculty is precisely what allows an individual to move freely between the roles of artist, craftsperson and designer.
